The second most important tool in cutting dovetails is your marking gauge. I tweak the WoodRiver marking gauge to "Cosmanize" it.

We shape and sharpen the blade to cut a crisp base line.

We cut a flat spot on the head to prevent it from rolling off your bench.

We recess the head to protect the blade when not in use.

We flatten the tool face for accurate registration on the wood.

Will accept my mortise gauge attachment.

Comes standard with the 7/16" diameter cutter head.

Extra cutter heads, with and without rods, are available in 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", and 5/8" diameters.

Its a marking guage. Its high quality. It doesn't roll off my bench. Its sold at a reasonable price by a quality company who supports veterens. Buy one, or buy two and give one to your brother in law.

I’m very glad I purchased it. I had a similar marking gage already that rolls around which is unsettling. I bought yours as a second gage so I would be able to have 2 without going back and forth adjusting the gage and losing accuracy. I’m so pleased I purchased yours that doesn’t roll around. That is a feature that I didn’t know how much I would really appreciate. It’s now my favorite marking gage. I love the 3 saws I purchased from you also. I made my first dovetails in a box for my granddaughter. I was pleased how the saws worked so well but had a few gaps that I need to improve on. In the middle of making the box I ordered your dovetail marking knife with the saw tooth blade. I’m looking forward to doing my next dovetails using your knife. My next purchase is for a Woodriver #5 plane you recommend. Unfortunately you don’t sell them in the US or I would purchase from you. I’m going to make a shooting board and wonder if you have planes for yours. I’d rather use a simple plan than having to go back to your YouTube video and having to watch it several times to get it right. Thanks, I appreciate your work and videos and will watch or rewatch at least one every day. Yours are my top of 3 or 4 favorite wood working videos.

The product (wheel marking gauge) is awesome. It’s perfect - but not a real Rob Cosman hand made one but it’s what I could afford at the time. I enjoy watching all the videos and would love to attend a class. How the **** do you know so much?
